World’s Favorite Construction Set! Educational, Creative, Entertaining ~Vintage Tinker Toys with two original containers. On the container is: “No. 136, Approximately 127 pieces, The Toy Tinkers Division of A.G. Spalding & Bros, Inc., Evanston, Illinois.” Circa 1955 – 1969.
They are in good condition but the original containers have wear from age as you can see from the pictures. I did not count the pieces but it seems to be close to its original number of at least one set.
Wiki states, ”The Tinkertoy Construction Set was created in 1914—one year after the A. C. Gilbert Company’s Erector Set—by Charles H. Pajeau and Robert Pettit in Evanston, Illinois. Pajeau, a stonemason, designed the toy after seeing children play with pencils and empty spools of thread. He and Pettit set out to market a toy that would allow and inspire children to use their imaginations. At first, this did not go well, but after a year or two over a million were sold.” Read MORE...
