Federal Glass Company Madrid Depression Glass Sherbet Plate

Madrid Depression Glass Sherbet Plate

Depression Glass, from the Great Depression Era, was often given away with a purchase of a product or service, so by nature it often bears manufacture flaws. Most collectors know this comes with collecting Depression Glass but new collectors may not. In fact, if you find a perfect piece of Depression Glass, you can probably be assured it is a reproduction! Also, beware that reproductions of the amber Depression Glass will be a lot darker in color. To read more about specific traditional flaws and other interesting points, Barbara and Jim Mauzy cover it in their informative book, Mauzy’s Depression Glass, a Photographic Reference with Prices, 2nd Edition.
