Vintage reproduction pieces can provide a source of stylish
collectibles. In her wonderful book, Answers to Questions About Old Jewelry
1840-1950, 5thEdition, C. Jeanenne Bell, G.G., gives great insight into
the parellels of the 19th century jewelry to the 20th century jewelry as she writes, “There are many parallels to ponder. In the last
decade of the 19th century, advertisements advocating magnets for
better health and spirtuality and symbolism were common topics of conversation.
In the last decade of the 20th century, magents were touted again as
the answer to many health problems…In jewelry the parallels were just as obvious.
Platinum became the most favored metal at the end of the 19th century.
Today, it has again gained national acceptance as the premier metal. The Arts and
crafts Movements of the 19th century stressed some of the same
qualities that hand crafters do today. People are once again concerned with
artistry and craftsmanship. Cameos, mosaics and anything with enamel work ar
ethe most collectible items.”
From my personal observation, the Victorian styles of
1861-1889 were repeated almost exactly one hundred years later in 1980-1992, as
victorian reproductions surfaced as the style to wear. The artistic reproduction pieces
we offer fits this description: Charm bracelet and necklace, circa 1989-1992, in
bronze metal and lacey embossed details, victorian style.
Necklace measures 12 1/2 inche with clear crystal heart. Charm bracelet has all different designed hearts dangling from nice heavy gold chain. Set priced for $22.00
