WWI book
entitled: “U.S. Official Pictures of
the World War Showing American
Participation: Selected From
Official Files of the War Dept," written by Moore, William E. And James C. Russell. Hardcover
binding. Publisher:Pictorial Bureau,
Washington DC, copyright 1920. Each page is filled with superb sepia photos and
maps. Great for the WWI collector!
Good Condition
but spine is loosening from binding
and there has been extra binding repair at the top of the spine long ago. Some
tears and creases on last page. All
other pages are in tact and overall
it is really in very good condition. Measures 11 1/8 inches x 9 1/8 inches, 2 1/8
inches deep.
I
found about six copies listed online however, each of these were all described as having 595-600 pages and
have the decorated cover with a paste down
of doughboy firing his Springfield on front cover. The unusual book we offer has the
completely embossed cover with
picture and lettering both embossed and is
two books in one with the first one being 576 pages followed by a page of The Three Decorations for American
Soldiers, followed by the 32 page Final Report of Gen. John J.
Pershing Commander in Chief of
American Expeditionary Forces in
that war, followed by The United States Navy in the World
War Official Pictures (selected from
the files of the Navy department,
the War Department and the United States Marine Corps, which is 320 pages, copyright
1921. This totals approximately 928 pages of awesome pictorial history!
I would be happy to email larger image files. Just contact me if you would like to see different or larger images.
