Lead crystal quality is determined by the lead content and light refraction. If you look at a piece of full lead crystal when it is put in direct light it allows color as the light refracts through it. Lower lead crystal will not only not refract light as well but because they are a softer glass the less ability cutters will have to decorate the product. Anything 24% lead will be considered full lead crystal and below that is standard crystal.
